The short version

Laga Share does not have accounts and does not upload your files. We run no server that receives your files, your contacts or your location. Files travel directly from one phone to the other.

What the app does with your data

• Files you send or receive: they go directly between the two phones over a Bluetooth and Wi-Fi link (Google's Nearby Connections). They are encrypted in transit and are never sent to us.
• Transfer history: the list of file names and times is kept only on your phone. You can clear it in the app at any time, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app.
• Device name: your phone's model name is shown to the other phone while you are sending or receiving, so you can pick the right device.
• Permissions: Bluetooth, nearby devices and (on older Android versions) location are used only to find the other phone and make the direct link. Location is never read or stored by the app. Notifications are used for the progress of a transfer.

Ads

The app works fully offline. When your phone happens to be online, the app shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID, IP address and general device information to show and measure ads. Where the law asks, you are first shown a consent form, and you can change your choice later in the app menu (Privacy and ad settings). You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Android settings. See how Google uses data from ads.

Sharing the app itself

"Share the app" starts a small web page on your phone that another phone on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot can open to download the app. It is only reachable by phones on your local network, and it stops when you leave that screen.

Computer and iPhone mode

This mode starts a small web page on your phone. Only devices on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot that know the 4-digit PIN shown on your phone can use it. It stops when you leave that screen. Nothing goes through our servers.

Children

Laga Share is not directed to children under 13.
